Flow is such an important aspect of our life but we realize that when we hit stagnancy in our life. Such has been the case for me for the past few months though its only now I have acknowledged it. Putting one foot in front of the other had become such a task and some wonderful peeps shared their thoughts on this with me to help me out of it. Have you ever pondered over the flow in your life? Do share your insights on it with me please.
When one is down and out but still grateful, unexpected blessings come out of the blue to lift you up. This is what happened when I was driving down the forest road and spotted a herd of Antelopes or Nilgai, grazing in the jungle. I was totally gobsmacked at the sight of these peaceful and gentle creatures who didnt shy away from me at all.
The other blessing came via CULT. Its a gym company that I go to for my yoga sessions. One morning when I got back from the gym, once again someone had parked their car in my parking. The ensuing fiasco ruined my happy mood from the gym session. As I tweeted about it, CULT responded with a voucher on their food app to sweeten my day. Wasn’t that so so sweet of them? I ended up ordering this awesome bowl of salad which perked up not just my mood but tummy too. Isn’t this the most colorful and appetizing plate of food? Trust me when I tell you it was delicious with top quality fruits and delivered on time.
♥ Green efforts ♥
One Sunday saw me out to plant trees with the other residents of the colony who had organised a plantation drive with the onset of monsoons. Some 30 of us happily pottered around to plant about a 100 odd saplings. It was such a happy and blessed feeling to be part of something like this.
♥ Health & Fitness ♥
Though I haven’t been very regular at the gym this month, I haven’t been doing too bad on the fitness front. Hoping to get back in the groove with August.
Health has also been good with only the moodiness persisting. Have got some tips from a buddy to deal with that and I am on it for now.
Intrigued? Pin it for later!
♥ Social Front ♥
With the mood so low, its no wonder that I have turned into an anti-social since a few months. But when friends and family that have your back are around, its tough to mope. I had plenty of social time with peeps I love who kept checking up on me.
I met up with P twice this month and all because of her pushiness π This was her birthday month, so decided to treat her for a lunch at Cafe Tesu which is fastΒ becoming my hanging out spot in the city. She surprised me with a thoughtful gift which she shopped for in Goa – her birthday trip. I have a huge thing for fridge magnets and loved this vivacious one which captures the essence of Goa so well. What do you think?
Second trip to Cafe Tesu happened when gorgeous Kash was in town for one of her workshops. I met Kash a few years back when I attended one of her workshops in Benares. Since then we have kept in touch for she is one of those warm effusive souls who sweep you up with utmost love. And she got me books which had me drooling to the core. She summed up my troubles with ease and gave me a few tips to try out. Did I mention she is a transformation coach and is one Kick ass one at that?
Read a post by her on Self-love which she did for me a year back
♥ Bookish notes ♥
I managed to read three books this month and start a fourth one which I am really digging for the prosaic feel to the writing. Each of these books is so different in genre and writing style that I am amazed at my selection. Have you read any of them? Now hoping to do the book reviews soon for these.
♥ From My Kitchen ♥
I have been quite busy in my kitchen this month too, especially for breakfast. But when it came to dinner, I was on most days just ordering out. Vowed to stop this in August totally as I am sure its going to take a toll on my health in a big way.
Best effort was the fresh pickles I have been making this summer. I love raw mangoes and Karonda or Bengal plum – they make for awesome tangy chutneys to be had on the side with food. Do you have any such recipes to share with me?
♥Β Blogging news ♥
I didnt get down to much blogging this month either but what I am grateful for is the messages I got from fellow bloggers. Such thoughtfulness to check on me as I hadnt been writing. Grateful for the sisterhood I have found via blogging. Online connects but so so powerful in strength and encouragement. Thank you Universe for these wonderful connections.
Well that seems to be all from my June for this month’s gratitude post and linking it with Vidya’s Gratitude circle
In case you are interested, you may find my last month’s gratitude post here
I am still staring at your book loot. A fabulous bunch to keep you company. So nice of your gym to give you a gift voucher. The dish looks very healthy and delicious
kudos to you guys for planting 100 trees. That’s an excellent contribution towards our environment.
It’s so good to read your updates. Hope you will be back to blogging in full swing. Take care.
Thanks Raj and yeah that loot is indeed very fabulous – I have been over the moon after getting it especially as I was planning to buy 2 of those books. I am hoping the writing block has been broken and this month will see me more active and out there on the blog. Fingers crossed π
Wow! Those books. And you know I miss karonda here. I used to make this lovely karonda and hari mirch sabzi/achaar earlier. Hope you are feeling better now, Shalz. It is tough when the head space is not right. I was down in the dumps last year with the knee injury, constant downs and ups. Even now the knee pain surfaces sometimes and then I was so unwell this month with allergies and chest congestion. That is the time when all one feels like doing is snapping at others and avoiding all social contact. Luckily, you have good friends and family and also us who are there. Take care and feel better soon. Best wishes and warm hugs.
Thanks Rachna – yes I am blessed with the circle that I have around me. Pushing myself through this messy phase is becoming pretty tough and I am hoping to have my head space in the right vein soonest. I am so tired of myself π
I hear you on the ill health issues and hope you are doing okay girl. We have gotten so used to being independent that being out of action is painful for us. Not being in control throws us so out of a loop – I hope you get back to track soon. Hugs π
Yayyyyyyy, you are back! Welcome back, love! <3
CULT indeed is a blessing. It made me addicted to working out and I look and feel so healthy today! The books you read are drool worthy, but, did you like 'The Enchantress Of Florence'? That is a book I read two pages and hated it so much that I threw it away!
Take care of your health and try to cut down on the eating out! Stock up on some fruits and nuts, they form a better dinner sometimes.
Hoping to see more of you soon π
Thanks for the hearty cheer Somz β€ that felt damn awesome.
Yeah CULT is pretty awesome though I havent been there in 3 weeks now. Hoping to start from Monday
I am loving the writing so far in the Book- it’s so prosaic and lovely. What gorgeous words. Keeping a diary to note them.
As for writing, hoping to post on alternate days this month which makes it about 12-15 posts- fingers crossed
I think I know what you mean when you feel a bit stagnant. I’m finding that currently professionally. I feel like I’m not doing things according to my values and that doesn’t make me too happy. Unlike you though, I have been keeping busy and not having time to reflect and just be to ponder on it all. I think the time has come for me to do that. Despite you not blogging this past month, it still sounds like a fulfilling month on many levels. Good on you for continuing to connect with friends, reading, exercising and doing your bit for the environment. Hope August is lovely for you!
Thanks for the vote of confidence Sanch – hoping to bounce back this month with regular writing
I hope things sort out at your end too love – you are always so energetic and doing such amazing things Plus read an awful lot too. I really envy you your reads
Here s hoping for a brighter August for both of us β€
Well you’ve been doing a lot I can see . No wonder you didn’t really have time to blog. Besides it’s ok to give it a break and come back refreshed and rejuvenated.
Thanks Sunita. I am hoping that’s the case and I am more productive this month.
Thatβs a lovely selection of books you have there. The plantation drive looks like fun. And how sweet of your gym to give you that food voucher. The salad looks yummy!
Thanks Shinjini. Yeah the gym is really a blessing and am loving them a lot for everything that they offer to the members. The salad was delightful and I ended up ordering it again as the fruit selection was just perfect in it.
You said it Shalz… flow is the important thing, and yes we realise it only when stagnation hits us in life.
Love the goa fridge magnet. Looks big for one though.. nevertheless its a beauty.
And the beauty about the blogging fraternity is that, you need not really blog everyday, but once a connect it stays for good.
Would love to see you back with all your Mojo Shalz :))))
Hey Ramya- thanks so much for this love filled comment. You made my day with it and I am happy to tell you that I am indeed back with the blog hop that Corinne has started. Yay for the mojo!! π
That to me is a fulfilling month. It’s okay to go slow on workout sometimes but then balance it with the food. That fruit bowl looks heavenly. You know I am a Cult member too and I also love the sessions there. I have kept me on track.
You are not at all anti-social. So don’t say that. You are so warm and lovely and after having met you, I can say that with full confidence π
Btw – you spotted that Nilgai on that forest road? The Aravalli one? wow!
Wishing you a joyous August. So glad we met this month. <3
Hey Parul – thank you so much for your kind words. Its a ditto on how I felt after meeting you too. The Nilgai spotting was on the Aravali belt near my house and yes it was such a blessed sight. These creatures are so so gentle and just seeing them I felt so calm. Recently a colony member spotted loads of Hare/rabbit in this section and shared pics on our WA group. I had seen one a while back but had thought I was hallucinating. His ears were so so large – reminded me of the Mad hatter from Alice in Wonderland π
You are very disciplined with your fitness regime; I tend to go off the grid owing to how lazy I am π
