#NaBloPoMo
2015 I hit my 40th birthday and it was time to make a few pertinent resolutions for my life, key being ones on health – physical and mental.
I started by eliminating some of my beloved junk foods and bringing healthier options onto my plate.
Next to start off was a physical exercise routine like a walk and yoga. It’s taken me months of dithering to finally start on a disciplined regime of a daily walk of at least 4500 steps.
I checked out various parks in my colony before I settled on the present one which feels like my personal green oasis of peace and quiet. I keep discovering wondrous aspects of this space everyday and feel so blessed to have it in my life.
I have started loving my morning jaunts and feel so full of energy and joy throughout the day; am sure it’s not just the endorphins kicking in but also the magic that the park charms me into believing of its special environs.
But my decision to be healthy is nothing to do with how I view my body. I don’t think I am FAT!!! I made my peace with my food and my size aeons ago. I was someone who was forever on a diet or following a health trend; always looking to lose that extra 5 kg…..
But it’s when I stopped stressing about my weight, that I actually started shedding the excess. I began to eat mind fully and only when I am hungry. I ate whatever I wanted to but without any guilt.
And this has come about because I love myself and am not critical of how I look.
Whats your secret mantra to a healthier you? Do you love your body or hate it?

It’s so good to know you have found your healthy mojo 🙂 Yes, self love is very important… One needs to love their body… Following a routine diligently is my secret mantra.
Thanks Raj – welcome back! You have been missed. I love your yoga headstand pics – cant do it but looks amazing the way you pose for them 😉 More power to your secret mantra….
Good thought and advice.. I like these cards..
Thanks so much Pratikshya. I am loving peeps reactions to these cards- they are just amazing!!
Body confidence is a good thing to have, so congratulations on that achievement. I am a fan of morning walks too, as I feel they are the best way to start the day.
Best of luck for your health regime. Keep going!
Thanks Mayuri – I have been lazy since two days on the walk front but then I make it up when I go next- I have stopped beating myself over it. 🙂
Well, firstly glad to hear you are a part of the forties club! I am personally exercise and diet phobic. I keep thinking….yes, one day I’ll get to it, but it hasn’t happened yet. Its good you’ve found your pace and the right space! All the best with your exercise regime.
Thanks Kala – hi-five girlie!!!
I hear you- used to be like that and now am glad have settled into a no-guilt regime for myself. Its liberating
I’m sorry to admit that, when I was borderline obese (some four years ago) I hated my body and was ashamed of my body. Now, I’m struggling with weight gain again. Movement is free and it does work!
Hey Alana – go easy on yourself girl; its ok to be whatever shape n size that “fits” you and not dictated by any pressure or convention. You will get right back on the track that you want to be with a little faith and persistence on your path 🙂
