Week #5

Another week has set in and here we are with my week #5 posting for #BookSlutThursday. Check out my this week’s selection to read and play, all had been ordered to reach Bangalore where I am vacationing at present.

  1. Twenty Love Poems & a Song of Despair by Pablo Neruda was bought after reading a few of his lines on Natasha’s blog; she further confirmed that his poetry is a must-read. So here it is in my this thursday’s picks
  2. The Kabul Beauty School by Deborah Rodriguez has been intriguing me since a few months and prompted by Amazon during my buy, I selected it.
  3. Nidhi’s post last week had Aimee Bender’s The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake which seemed a damned delish read and when I searched this author, I found she also has a short stories collection- The Color Master and that is what I ended up buying. I am more of a short story fan, most days!!
  4. My humble glasses without whom I can’t read well.
  5. Color pencils “borrowed” from my nephew, his pencilbox-pouch and a little plastic fishy (much against his will )
  6. A pair of khadau magnets in ceramic from my sister’s fridge
  7. Some banana chips to munch on (Oh how I love these!!)

Here you go folks, my version of this week’s #bookslutthursday – now lets see your selections!!!

  1. No writer of world renown is perhaps so little known to North Americans as Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. Numerous critics have praised Neruda as the greatest poet writing in the Spanish language during his lifetime. Some of Neruda’s most extraordinary and powerful poetry. I am definitely buying a copy of his poems very soon. The Kabul Beauty School by Deborah Rodriguez and the other 2 books of this series was well taken by women all over in Asian countries. Head about Aimee Bender’s books but never read them. And banana chips are yummy always. I love them too.

    1. Wow Romila! You sure are very well read; I am amazed at you knowing almost every book I post about. I am looking forward to reading your post. Last one in this series; winner announcement on Monday…

  3. I love this series Shalini! The collection is great and I am loving the books I find some of you mentioning in the series. I have now chosen to make it a point of reading a book every weekend and have added some of these in my bucket list.
