Making assumptions comes so natural to all of us- well it does to me. There is something lazy or unsure in all of us when it comes to calling up someone to help or find out where are they? Or simply hesitate to call up peeps because it’s easier to assume.

Our assumptions are rooted in our mentality. If we are of a  positive mindset, we give the other person the benefit of a doubt or look at the situation from troubleshooting angle.

A negative minded person will assume the worst, literally.

When I reflect in myself doing it, I realise it stems from my anger issues and insecurities.

He doesn’t like me- I am not really that likeable. That’s why he hasn’t called!!!

She doesn’t want me at her party, I am not a good company or I don’t own such fashionable clothes.

Maid is so lazy, any excuse not to work and am sure she has decided to take an off for today without telling me. She might be really ill !!

The list is endless….. And it all stems from me. I project my insecurities onto others and make it the reason why something is not working out.

This card is  good advise for me at present and I need to work this into my routine to invoke positivity and happiness in my thoughts.

  1. Love this post. I always try to assume the best of people but there is so much negativity in the world, isn’t there? We should all do better about giving others the benefit of the doubt. Great perspective!

    1. Hey Shalzz- Its such a human thing to do; dont worry we are all habitual of it. its great that we are becoming aware of it and trying to do it away. 🙂

  2. I would be lying if I say I am not te person who assumes. I assume the worst. And my over thinking brains build a house out of nothing and spoils my mental peace. Makes me restless and spoils the entire day.
I have been trying to give it up. I promise but it isn’t that easy.

    1. Sigh!!! Its a big thing with all of us. We are so conscious of what the other person will think that we do it for them in our heads and ruin stuff. I am guilty by very large measures for this. Trying to do away with it slowly and steadily!! 🙂

    1. Thanks Ashwini- yes its a deep rooted problem. And you are absolultey right about not giving anyone benefit of the doubt. 🙂
